Corporate History

The commencements of the company Intereuropa date back to the year 1947, when a limited liability company - with only three employees - was founded in the then “B Zone” of the Free Triest Territory. The variety of services performed by the company and the number of employees was increasing from year to year, which reflected in the changing organizational structure. Between the years 1965 and 1990, Intereuropa opened branches in all major cities of the former SFR Yugoslavia; at the time of disintegration of the common state (1991), the branches outside Slovenia re-organized as limited liability companies. The privatization process was completed by 1995, and Intereuropa shares were listed on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange in 1998.

The end of 1990's saw the expansion of our network to the markets of southeast Europe , in part by re-integrating the former branches into the Group again, in part by new acquisitions. A parallel development in the Group was the transformation of the company’s core business, i.e. the transition from a customs broker and road haulier into an international logistical group offering an integral range of services. We added new services to our range, and officially classified our core business as global logistical service last year.
